Kristen Smith is a designer and educator currently based in San Francisco, California. Member and co-founder of the design collaboration, DSGN-PRJKT, her work can be seen as an opportunistic exploration of techniques, ideas and research born of an endless fascination with the world around her. Kristen’s work has been exhibited at the Graham Foundation in Chicago, Institute for Contemporary Art in Philadelphia, the Architectural League in New York, the New York Public Library and F.U.E.L. Gallery in Philadelphia and has also been included in several international publications.
Kristen received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Cincinnati and a Master of Architecture from the University of Pennsylvania where she was awarded both the AIA Henry Adams Medal and the Alpha Rho Chi Medal for her design work and leadership. In addition to teaching studios and seminars in Architecture and Interior Design at the California College of the Arts, Kristen has taught at PennDesign and the University of California, Berkeley.
Kristen currently works for the design firm, Min | Day, where she is involved with a wide range of projects from the institutional scale to furniture design.
