Llewelynn Fletcher creates immersive sculptures to physically inhabit, with conditions that offer a direct experience. Fletcher investigates the acoustic resonance of materials including basswood, felt, ceramic and lead as part of an exploration of the action of listening . Fletcher is a 2009 Murphy and Cadogan Fellowship recipient, a 2010 Barclay Simpson Award recipient, and has had recent exhibitions at [AC]2 Gallery in Albequerque, Krause Gallery in Providence, and the San Francisco Arts Commission Gallery, SomArts, Swell and Project One Galleries here in San Francisco. Llewelynn Fletcher earned her MFA degree at California College of the Arts in 2010, and currently lives and works in the bay area.
