Luz Marina Ruiz works in a variety of media, printmaking, book arts, drawing, painting and installation. Her work is inspired by the world of dreams and nature. She exhibits nationally and internationally. Private, corporate and library collections house her work across the nation: Mills College Special Collection Library, USC Special Collection Library, Hewlett-Packard, Kaiser Hospital, Hughes Aircraft, American Express. Her artists' books may be viewed at the website of Vamp & Tramp, Alabama.

Luz Marina was born in Cali, Colombia. She immigrated with her family at an early age to New York. She studied printmaking, painting and drawing at the University of California at Berkeley, where she received a BA, MA, and MFA. After graduate school, she pursued a career in teaching. She taught design, drawing, painting and printmaking at various Bay Area colleges: Mills College, Art Academy University, Diablo Valley College, City College San Francisco.  She designed and implemented a printmaking program at Diablo Valley College. Currently, she teaches in the first year program at CCA.

Luz Marina serves as the president of the California Society of Printmaking.
