Renu Cappelli received her PhD in Performance Studies with a Designated Emphasis in Women, Gender, and Sexuality from UC Berkeley in 2007. During the past decade, she has taught courses in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Stanford University, UC Berkeley, UC San Diego, San Francisco State University, and the California College of Art. She is also a founding member of the San Francisco-based performance-devising collective, The Collected Works, and is a puppeteer under the tutelage of Niki Ulehla. Renu is also currently an intern in psychotherapy, focusing on psychoanalysis as a clinical method and a tool for the analysis of culture and society.
