In addition to teaching the Sustainability Studio in CCA's MBA in Design Strategy program, Michael Sammet teaches sustainable design at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and is the lead instructor in the Sustainable Practices Certificate program at Dominican University. He also created the Professional Program in Sustainable Design at UC Berkeley Extension in San Francisco.

Michael is passionate about the power of the applied principles of sustainability to help improve the quality of our lives and society, while reducing our impact on the planet. He has presented his work at West Coast Green, the EcoCity World Summit, Esalen, and Burning Man.

He is the cofounder of Design Renaissance, a biannual sustainable community design event in Santa Cruz.

He hosts a weekly talk radio program in Santa Cruz on AM 1080 KSCO, featuring interviews and discussions about sustainability, spirituality, politics, culture, and social activism.

His undergraduate degree is in political economy, while his master's degree is in political science.

Michael lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains with his wife and daughter and enjoys yoga, mushroom foraging, skiing, and playing in his band.
