Sara Dean profile image

Sara Dean is an architect and designer in San Francisco. Her work considers the implications of emerging digital technologies on public engagement, urban interface, and related design practices. Through her design research studio, VUCA, she focuses on strategies to engage complex systems, emerging ecologies, and uncertain futures. This works spans spatial and digital media, with a commitment to open-access data and crowd-production. 

Sara is currently Assistant Professor in MFA Design at the California College of Art, and has taught previously at UC Berkeley, and the College for Creative Studies. Sara holds a Master of Architecture and Master of Science in Design Research, both from the University of Michigan, and a BFA in Communication Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University.
