Print publications have been a cornerstone of graphic design practice since its infancy. With the rise of digital media enabled by the iPad and other mobile devices, publication design is in the midst of an exciting evolution. The course addresses both the larger conceptual possibilities this expanding medium offers as well as the specific skills designers need to successfully realize these expansive ideas. Students work independently and collaboratively in a range of media and methods that culminates in the creation of an original publication. Students also utilize history, analysis, and the wisdom culled from special guests and field trips to further their learning.
