ILLUS-400

The goal of this class is to introduce students to professional issues and practices in the real world of illustration and to investigate problem solving from the point of view of the artist, client and audience. Weekly assignments are derived from current events and actual illustration jobs, but designed to push the student outside of their comfort zone. The student will learn to make illustrations which function and are ""read"" by their audience, as designed and intended. All topics of illustration will be covered and discussed. This class is demanding and designed as a gateway to Illustration 6: Thesis.
