METAL-208

This survey class will enable students to experience a variety of metal casting techniques applicable to the creation of jewelry and small-scale works, using both precious and non-precious metals. Processes taught will range from basic sandcasting to lost-wax casting and mold making. Exploring the possibilities inherent in the casting process will result in a wider range of options for resolving issues of concept, design, and production. Students will be encouraged to integrate cast and fabricated elements in an atmosphere of experimentation. Additional materials fee will be charged.
