Senior Project shifts the focus of art making from assignment based projects to self-directed studio work, in preparation for professional art practice. Seniors concentrate on the development of a cohesive and conceptually sound body of work, culminating in the senior exhibition. Through group dialogue and critique students sharpen their aesthetic perceptions, articulate their conceptual concerns and refine the content of their work. Further, students learn to use research in building a body of work, write effective resumes and artist statements, title work, and develop professional strategies for pursuing a career in the arts. The course includes field trips, one-on-one meetings with the instructor, and meetings with CCA graduate students.
