VISCR-660

Meeting every other week, students enrolled in CCA's dual degree programs engage with the combined practices and multiple approaches implied by their two courses of study. Through individual critique, group discussion, writing, and working with visitors, this seminar is geared towards the integration of, and differentiation between, thinking through making and thinking through (critical) writing. Over the course of the year, class members consider methodological questions that arise from negotiating the difference between critical distance and haptic engagement; between discipline specific standards and studio practices. A dual practice can result in surprising, sometimes unique solutions to the seeming distance between these different approaches and demands.
