WRLIT-97

A language class intended for non-native speakers of English who need more attention to the building blocks of college-level reading, writing and speaking. Language exercises are geared toward the issues of non-native speakers, such as: vocabulary development, idioms, subject-verb agreement, sequence of tenses, and sentence structure. Discussion will be based on short articles on intercultural issues, works of literature and art-realted essays. Verbal skills and accent reduction will be addressed through oral presentations such as art critiques and debates. Students may receive 3 units of Humanites and Sciences elective credit.
