Writing 2: Seeing People
Writing 2 continues the work begun in Writing 1 on strengthening students' ability to write, read and discuss at the college level, with emphasis on literary and visual analysis, and research and argumentation skills. The course will revolve around a specific theme selected by the instructor.
In this course we examine human dilemmas in literature, asking how people struggle with the problems life brings them, fromwar, poverty, and discrimination to fights with parents or not fitting in. The goals of this course are to help students develop and refine their skills to write vividly, clearly, and effectively and to discuss and analyze culturally diverse literature effectively and originally.
