Graphic narrative is a general term for comic books, graphicnovels, manga, bandes dessinees, sequential art, and relatedgraphic texts, which may or may not be primarily narrative. The course is formatted as an interdisciplinary workshop, but will also examine the evolution, subject matter, form, conventions, possibilities, and future of the graphic novel genre throughassigned readings. Students will work independently andcollaboratively on relevant projects. This course fulfills the text and image requirement for Writing and Literature majors.
