Why Walk?

Out of sight, out of mind, right? Not true. Because of current budget cuts, now more than ever it's vital to support local HIV/AIDS programs and services throughout the Bay Area. One inspiring way to do this is to join Team CCA on Sunday, July 17, at AIDS Walk San Francisco 2011, which will take place in Golden Gate Park. This collegewide event is sponsored by the college's Queer/Straight Alliance.

Together we can demonstrate how CCA truly is about making art that matters—a community of staff, faculty, students, alumni . . . and anyone else who supports the college. In short, come celebrate what the CCA community looks like and what it stands for.

Challenged by Fundraising?

While raising funds is the obvious goal of AIDS Walk San Francisco, Team CCA also encourages those who wish to attend, but may not wish to register, to join our community anyway to lend their support. No one is turned away for lack of fund(raising), and everyone's participation is important.

Being Green Walking in the Park

Team CCA is registered as a "green" participating team. This means all information about the team, the Walk, and our fundraising efforts is communicated solely through email or website access. Please support the college's ongoing commitment to sustainability by designating yourself as a green participant.

About CCA's Queer/Straight Alliance

The Queer/Straight Alliance (QSA) is an official student organization at California College of the Arts. Learn more about CCA's student activities and leadership opportunities.

Our mission is to provide a “safe space” where all individuals can be free of harassment, discrimination, isolation, judgment, or violence, or any combination thereof, that occurs because of who they are, and to raise public awareness through multiple perspectives about diverse issues surrounding CCA's LGBT community and beyond.
