Born in 1970 in San Francisco, Mari Eastman studied at Smith College (BA 1992) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (MFA 1996). Her work has appeared in exhibitions at the the Japanese American National Museum, Los Angeles; the Berkeley Art Museum; and the Hammer Museum, Los Angeles. Eastman has had one-person shows at Emily Tsingou Gallery, London; Sies + Hoeke, Dusseldorf, Germany; Galleri Nicolai Wallner, Copenhagen; Spruth Magers Projekte, Munich; and Karyn Lovegrove Gallery, Los Angeles. Her one-person show at Cherry and Martin in Los Angeles opens in April 2011. She lives and works in Los Angeles.
