Terry Smith is an Australian art historian, art critic, and artist who lives and works in Pittsburgh, New York, and Sydney. From 1972 to 1976 he was an active member of the Art & Language group. Since 2001 he has been on the faculty of the University of Pittsburgh. He also serves as a board member of the Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh. Smith’s current work explores the relationships between contemporary art and its wider settings, within a world picture that he believes is characterized above all by its contemporaneity.
Tonight he will appear in conversation with CCA Wattis Institute Director Jens Hoffmann.
