Join us for a reading by two MFA Program in Writing alumni -- Jason R. Jimenez and Jordan Karnes -- followed by a panel discussion including two additional alums -- Nana K. Twumasi and Jessica Wickens -- all of whom will discuss life and success after CCA.
Jason R. Jimenez (MFA 2012) is the coauthor of Summer Idea No.6, a book of poetry and stories. His first novel, The Wolves, is expected in March 2014 by Publication Studio.
Jordan Karnes (MFA 2012) lives in Oakland. Her work has appeared in Actually People quarterly, Somnambulist zine, The Juvenilia, Explosion-Proof magazine, Transmission, and McSweeney's.
Her first book, It Hasn't Stopped Being California Here (Carville Annex Press 2014) arrives this spring.
Nana K. Twumasi (MFA 2007) lives, writes, and works in Oakland. After a long career in the publishing industry, she has recently transitioned to the nonprofit world.
Her creative work has appeared in the Ballyhoo Stories journal's online "50 States Project," the International Museum of Women’s Imagining Ourselves online exhibit, Sou’wester, Zyzzyva,and Eleven Eleven. She also coedits Monday Night, a journal of new literature
Jessica Wickens (MFA 2007) is a founding editor of Monday Night. With Della Watson and Kelsey Street Press, she recently founded the Bay Area Correspondence School, a project that explores experimental writing through online and offline communications.
With Watson, she coauthored a poetry collection titled Everything Reused in the Sea: The Crow & Benjamin Letters from Mission Cleaners Books.
