“I promise, we will sing about you.” is a collection of works by artist Sioux Bean.  Existing in the intersection of food, performance, culture, engagement, sculpture and clay, “I promise, we will sing about you.” is an experience through the canon of race, familial roots, belonging, labor all looking towards the Mexican-American cultural collective memory.

With roots, branching out of counter culture, from punk rock to Mexican-American cultural protest, artist Sioux Bean’s work breaks through formalities with a visceral energy that can only be matched - by the force that is used against mankind.

“I promise, we will sing about you” shows us that every persons cultural history is a unique cuisine, embedded within family, food and culture. Here we explore one dish.
