This is the first in a series of projects titled The Way Beyond Art, starting in spring 2010, in which a faculty member from any of CCA's programs presents a one-week exhibition in the Wattis Institute galleries. This installment, developed by CCA's Industrial Design Program, explores the relationship between renewable solar energy and industrial design.
The April 22 opening reception will include a project presentation at 6 p.m. in Timken Lecture Hall.
The Sunny Memories international design workshop and exhibition is initiated by EPFL+ECAL Lab with the support of Lombard Odier Private Bankers, swissnex San Francisco, and the Swiss Arts Council, Pro Helvetia.
Founding support for CCA Wattis Institute for Contemporary Arts programs has been provided by Phyllis C. Wattis and Judy and Bill Timken. Generous support provided by the Phyllis C. Wattis Foundation, Grants for the Arts / San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund, Ann Hatch and Paul Discoe, and the CCA Curator's Forum.
