Graphic Design Student Mike Hu Honored by AIGA San Francisco

CCA Graphic Design student Mike Hu won top honors on June 5, 2010, at the 10th Annual Portfolio Day of the San Francisco chapter of AIGA, the professional association for design. AIGA SF awarded $6,000 in scholarships to eligible students based on the overall excellence of their work, academic accomplishments, and personal statements. More than 145 students and 90 reviewers participated, and 11 enrichment scholarships, a judges' award, and the Rick Tharp Scholarship were awarded. Mike Hu won not only an enrichment scholarship, but also the top student award, the Rick Tharp Scholarship!

Hu is the second-ever recipient of this award, given in memory of renowned Bay Area graphic designer Rick Tharp to recognize academic achievement and design excellence. Judges from IDEO, Adaptive Path, and Celery Design Collaborative chose one student from among all of the scholarship winners whose work reflects the talent, innovation, and wit that Tharp brought to his profession and his community.

Congratulations Mike!
