CCA Students at Alternative Press Expo

CCA students work a table at last year's APE

The annual Alternative Press Expo (APO), the Bay Area's premiere showcase for independent comics and crafts, returns October 13-14 to the Concourse Exhibition Center (located at 635 8th Street). CCA is proud to take part in the event, where we will be promoting our newest graduate studies program -- the MFA in Comics!

MFA in Comics faculty will be on hand to talk about the innovative program, review portfolios, and answer questions about studying comics at the graduate level.

About the Alternative Press Expo

APE, one of the must-attend comics events of the year, presents the very best in alternative, small press, and self-published comics, with an exhibit hall packed with cutting-edge creators.

This year's exhibit hall features over 400 exhibitors, including some of the biggest indie comics publishers (SLG, Fantagraphics, Drawn and Quarterly, Top Shelf, Last Gasp), plus artists and DIY creators showcasing their comics, books, zines, original art, hand-made items, and much more.

Join CCA at APE!

CCA will occupy tables 313-314, where we will feature comics and graphic novels produced by students in both the undergraduate and graduate comics workshops.

Join us for the excitement in October! Read more about APE »
