On December 15 and 16, four CCA students and one recent alumna will showcase and sell their work at the 4th Annual Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market in San Francisco.
Inspired by the students who took part in the American Craft Council exhibition and the CCA coursework linking craft to entrepreneurship, CCA’s Career Development Office offered students a free shared booth.
Students applied to Career Development and were selected based on the range of work and their availability to work both days of the Holiday Market.
Four students and one alumna will represent themselves and the following CCA programs:
The new Career Development team aims to provide as many ways as possible for students to get out into the world in a professional capacity. This is the first time CCA has offered a free booth at the Renegade Craft Fair to students and recent alumni, and we hope to make this an annual offering with a competitive application process.
In spring, CCA administration recognized students in the craft studio areas need and want to learn more about marketing their work. A "School to Market" course -- a craft workshop -- was introduced as part of the shared craft curriculum.
By sponsoring a booth at the Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market, the Career Development Office gives more students professional experience marketing and selling their work.
The Renegade Craft Fair Holiday Market will be held at the Concourse Exhibition Center, near the CCA San Francisco campus, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on both days.
