Osaka University of the Arts Crafts students visit CCA Glass

Craft Department Students and Faculty (Yuki Uchimura and Takashi Ito) from Osaka University of the Arts in Japan will visit CCA Glass Department on February 26, 27, and 28.

CCA Glass Interim Chair Pamina Traylor was a visiting faculty at Osaka University of the Arts in Fall 2007. While there, Pamina forged bonds with the Glass Community at Osaka. This year, they will visit CCA while on a Craft tour of the United States West Coast.

Titled “Drawing Dreams on Glass”, the CCA itinerary for the visiting students will foster a cross-cultural creative experience that will include enamel painting on glass with CCA Glass 2 students, a tour of CCA Oakland campus, lunch with Glass 1 students, a hot shop collaboration with Glass 3 students, and a tour of local artists' studios and the Oakland Museum of California. The program will end with a farewell barbeque in the glass shop for all the students involved.

Osaka University of the Arts is an International Exchange Partner with CCA. CCA’s International Exchange program provides an opportunity for students from international partnering institutions of CCA to study fine arts, design, or architecture at CCA. CCA students may also apply to participate in the International Exchange Program by studying abroad at the Partner institution.
