Lt. Gov. Gavin Newsom Touts (and Tweets) CCA's New MBA in Public Policy Design Program
Posted on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 by Jim Norrena
Lieutenant Governor Gavin Newsom today used Twitter to showcase CCA’s MBA in Public Policy Design program, which offers a new kind of degree at the intersection of professional skills, policy contexts, sustainable values, and design-thinking techniques.
CCA's MBA in Policy Policy and the MBA in Strategic Foresight program follow in the footsteps of the groundbreaking MBA in Design Strategy, which BusinessWeek hailed as "one of the world's best design programs."
All three design programs are chaired by Nathan Shedroff, a pioneer in the experience design movement.
About the Tweet
Newsom's tweeted about the upcoming MBA in Public Policy Design open house event April 24, 2014, at 6:15 p.m. in Timken Lecture Hall on the San Francisco campus (1111 Eighth Street).
The free, public event will feature Deputy Innovation Officer for the San Francisco Mayor’s Office Shannon Spanhake, who is a leading voice in highlighting how civic innovation is shifting public/private sector partnerships and creating new opportunities for startups and social enterprises.
About CCA's New MBA in Public Policy Design
Our faculty helps students learn a variety of tools and gain transdisciplinary perspectives on markets, government, organizations, and individuals, while working with real organizations and agencies to develop actual new solutions.
Our unique, hands-on curriculum is project based and balances idealistic values about the future and change with realistic practice for today's political environment.
Bay Area Innovation Lab Is Prototype for New Forms of Governance
The San Francisco Bay Area is the most innovative region in the world. We have the deeply entrepreneurial spirit of the start-up culture, the balance of realism and optimism in the large, sustainability- and systems-oriented NGO and nonprofit sector, and the commitment to new forms of democracy and local values in the local governments and agencies.
This region of the world forms a petri dish like no other for creating new policies, solutions, and relationships between citizens and organizations.
