Artist and alumnus Nigel Sussman (BFA Illustration 2005) will create the artwork for the 15th annual Architecture + the City festival hosted by American Institute of Architects, San Francisco (AIASF) and the Center for Architecture + Design. Sussman creates complex isometric murals and illustrations and can often be found painting pictures of giant cats or flying food. The detail is all done by hand and with a lighthearted sense of humor that keeps you looking and smiling. He has created art for a wide range of businesses and organizations, from large, innovative brands like Google, eBay and Adidas, to restaurants, non-profits and local communities. Sussman has completed projects that include large scale public murals to more traditional print projects for well-known publications.

Architecture + the City festival is one of the nation's largest and longest running architectural and design festivals. Taking place in San Francisco every September, the month-long celebration features walking tours, films, exhibitions, presentations and more that provide an excellent opportunity for all communities to experience architecture and design in a myriad of ways throughout the city.
