Kate Dey, MA
Senior Director for Career Development
Kate has over 15 years of professional experience with more than 10 years of career development expertise in higher education and a master’s degree in career development. She has a background in executive recruiting specializing in high tech, biotech, education, and healthcare.

Kate has also run her own career coaching and organizational review business. Kate’s art practice focuses on ceramics and jewelry design. She brings passion, purpose, and focus to her work with students and alumni. Kate has a strong professional network and is dedicated to supporting students and alumni in their own unique career journey.


Marianne Beck
Associate Director for Academic & Career Development | San Francisco
Marianne has over 12 years of experience in higher education. In her previous roles she helped charter two generations of the undergraduate advising program at CCA. Focusing on experiential learning opportunities, Marianne brings together her expertise in advising and her background in art and design to support students and alumni bridging from their academic to professional life.


Emily Tareila
Assistant Director for Career Development | Oakland

Emily has over 8 years experience working with artists and arts organizations, including 4 years of advising/coaching in higher education.

As an artist and facilitator engaged in social practice and writing projects, her work explores the ways in which people seek out the ideal conditions to actualize ideas, create a context, make and come together. In particular, she enjoys working with artists/students in stages of transition creatively and professionally. She holds a BA with a visual arts concentration from Bennington College.


Andrew Knutson
Career Associate for Career Development | San Francisco
Andrew has a background in education, the arts, and social media. He has both an undergraduate degree in English and a master's degree in the History of Art and Design. Through his work and studies at Pratt Institute, Andrew has developed a passion for helping students achieve their personal and professional goals.

Andrew serves as the point of contact for the CCA Works Job Board, on-campus recruiting, and appointment scheduling. 

Virginia Medrano Rosales
Graduate Intern for Career Development | San Francisco

Virginia is a third-year graduate student in the Masters of Science in Counseling Program at San Francisco State University with a specialization in college counseling and an emphasis in career counseling.

Virginia was born in San Francisco and raised in the Bay Area. She graduated from Skyline Community College with an associate of arts degree, transferred to SFSU, and graduated in 2010 with a bachelor degree in sociology.Virginia has a background in college leadership with student clubs, associations, and government. She served two years as the Student Trustee for the San Mateo County Community College Board. Virginia has a passion for supporting students in identifying and working towards achieving their academic and career dreams.
