Calling all graduating students to sign up to participate in the 2018 Commencement Exhibition! Final Deadline: April 1, 2018.

2018 Methods of Acti(ng)on: Alumnx Residency

During the timespan of May 21 - August 3, the CCA Hubbell Street Galleries in San Francisco will be activated as a site for recent alumnx (graduating years 2008-2018) to use as a studio space/laboratory to create and publicly present an exhibition, project, performance, reading, workshop, or collection of work. The CCA Exhibitions department will support an open studio evening for the residency recipients on July 20, 2018 from 6:00-9:00 PM, public viewing hours (dates TBD), and a closing reception and panel discussion moderated by the application jurors (date TBD).
 
The prompt for this residency is Methods of Acti(ng)on. Specifically suited for alumnx who are working in forms that explore social, political, environmental, and economic issues; this residency is structured to support artists and curators who are investigating some of today's most pressing issues. Selections will be made by a jury of recent alumnx, and a modest honorarium will be awarded to each residency recipient to assist in supporting their project(s). 2018-2019 Exhibition Request Form

The Exhibitions Department invites you to place requests for departmental exhibitions, faculty organized exhibitions related to coursework, visiting faculty/artists, scholarship or award exhibitions, project based exhibitions, or presentations of work developed via industry/local partnerships. Available venues are the CCA Hubbell Street Galleries in San Francisco and the Oliver Art Center, Isabelle Percy West Gallery, and A2 Cafe in Oakland. Any faculty, staff, or program wanting to organize an exhibition or event in the the galleries managed by the Exhibitions department during the 2018-2019 academic year must submit a request, even if it is an annual event. Before applying, please read through the General Exhibitions Request Guidelines. 

The original deadline to apply was April 22, 2018. If you are applying after this date your application will still be reviewed and considered, but on-time applications will be prioritized. Additional information about CCA Exhibitions, including floor plans and images from past exhibitions, can be found on the CCA Exhibitions website.
