Summer Housing

We're excited you are considering living with Housing & Residential Life during Summer at California College of the Arts!

Important General Housing Info

Location: Housing will be provided for summer students at Panoramic Residences, located at 1321 Mission Street in San Francisco.

Room Type: Panoramic includes double studio rooms that have a kitchen, private bath, closet space, a flat screen TV, a study nook and two twin beds with storage below. (Two students are assigned to live in the double studios.)

Panoramic also includes three-bedroom suites. These three-bedroom suites have a common kitchen with a small kitchen table and flat-screen TV and a bathroom. The three-bedroom suites contain two separate single rooms (suite singles) and one double room (suite double). All rooms have twin beds with storage below. Four students are housed in each suite.

Eligibility: All students taking summer courses at CCA are eligible for Summer Housing. Students who have lived in Housing at CCA or taken courses on campus during the spring semester prior to the summer, or both, are eligible to live in Summer Housing.

Also, students who are applying to live on campus, or who have enrolled as a student for Fall after the summer are eligible to live on campus for the summer.

Students do not have to be enrolled for summer courses to live on campus.

Feb 15 - April 2 at Noon: Application period. During this time students may apply for Summer Housing.

April 10th at Noon: Students will be notified of their potential summer assignment. (Note: Summer Housing space is quite limited and is not guaranteed. Offers are based upon availability.)

April 16th at Noon: A $300 refundable housing damage and cleaning deposit is due to secure summer housing. If payment of the housing damage and cleaning deposit is not made by this date and time, the summer housing application will be voided and the bed space reassigned.

April 30th: All summer housing fees are due.

All applicants must pay a $100 nonrefundable application deposit.

Upon receiving their assignment for summer, applicants must pay a refundable $300 housing damage and cleaning deposit.

By April 30, applicants must pay for their summer housing according to their assignment type and time spent in the halls. (Please see summer housing rates for room type and Summer Program pricing structure.)

Summer Bridge / Interim Housing

Some students may need housing during the interim or bridge periods between the end of Spring semester on May 5th and the beginning of Summer Housing on May 20th.

Students may also need housing during the interim or bridge periods between the end of Summer Session Housing on August 18 and the beginning of the Fall Housing Agreement on August 25.

In both cases, CCA's Office of Housing & Residential Life will approve bridge stays on a case-by-case basis, and only if the space is available.

Residential students who are graduating in Spring are welcome to stay in housing until Noon, the Sunday after the College's commencement ceremonies. (Note: Prior notice is expected!)

Please use the Summer Housing application to note your interest in applying for Bridge Housing.

A student will be considered eligible for Summer Bridge Housing, if the student is living in housing for the periods preceding and following the bridge housing dates needed.

Priority will also be given to students who need to be housed for the Full Summer Bridge period, rather than partial time periods.

Students will be informed of Summer Bridge Housing availability with their summer assignment.

All bridge housing payments must be made by April 30th for a student to be eligible to stay in bridge period housing.

Be prepared to move ANYTIME during summer bridge periods to help with building turnover. It is not advised that students leave during this time period as students will need to move to their Fall Assignment as rooms become available.
