While college housing is located on or near the Oakland campus, students take courses on either the San Francisco or Oakland campus (or both).
Both campuses are readily accessible to students via a college-provided shuttle. Residential students are given priority access to this service, which is available several times a day Monday through Friday: Webster Hall to the Oakland campus to to the San Francisco campus.
Return trip is in reverse order. (See Intercampus Transportation for a current shuttle schedule.)
Each campus is serviced by municipal transportation bus lines. The Oakland campus is located seven blocks from the Rockridge BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station; Webster Hall is located just two blocks from the 12th Street BART station; and the San Francisco campus is a five-minute bus ride from either the 16th Street/Mission or Civic Center BART stations.
Because public transportation and shuttle service are available (and public parking near the Oakland campus is extremely limited), residential students in the First-Year Community (FYC) are not permitted to bring vehicles to the college.
FYC residents are required to sign an agreement to this effect and are subject to strict disciplinary procedures if a vehicle they are using is found on or near the Oakland campus.
Students residing in the Continuing Student Community have the option to keep a vehicle, but as secure overnight parking is extremely limited, it is discouraged.
