Blueprints, Blue Jeans & Bluegrass

This special event celebrated the life and work of distinguished architecture and design leader Art Gensler. As the founder of Gensler, the largest architecture firm in the world, Art is renowned for his impact on the field and his commitment to education.

The gala reception and dinner took place in the central nave of CCA’s San Francisco campus. This award-winning building was transformed by designer Stanlee Gatti for the Blueprints, Blue Jeans, and Bluegrass theme.

Guests enjoyed signature cocktails from St. George Spirits, wine from CCA alumnus Michael Muscardini of Muscardini Cellars, and CCA neighbor Bluxome Street Winery. A delicious home-style dinner was served by McCalls catering, followed by live bluegrass music by the Brigham Brothers.

I am pleased to serve as the honoree for the CCA 2014 Gala. It is a college with a rich history and a tremendous future, and I have long been impressed by the caliber of students who come from around the world to study architecture, art, design, and writing at CCA.

That is why my wife, Drue, and I began donating to CCA student scholarships back in 1994. We want to invest in the education of extraordinary, young people who will become the next generation of creative leaders.
