The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is located on the Oakland campus in Irwin Hall 207. However, coaches are available on either campus to provide any enrolled student with individual assistance with assignments.
California College of the Arts' coaching program provides students with one-on-one writing support, including time management. We also work with small groups. The service is intended to supplement—not replace—classroom instruction.
CCA writing coaches can help with such writing assignments as an artist statement, English I essay, or graduate thesis among other types of writing assignments.
In addition to writing coaches, students can take advantage of our visual studies coaches who have mastered the content, study skills, and essays required within Introduction to the Arts and Introduction to the Modern Arts.
Software coaching is only offered for the most commonly used software programs; CCA cannot procure coaches for all software applications used on campus. If you are having difficulty with a particular software program that relates to your major and no software coaching is available, please contact that department for assistance.
To better understand the wealth of benefits coaching offers, visit About Coaching to read an overview that explains how coaching may help you achieve academic success. Or skip ahead to the Getting Started section if you're ready to contact the LRC.
