CCA Architecture receives the 2026 ACADIA Impact Award of Excellence
The Association for Computer Aided Design in Architecture (ACADIA) has recognized CCA’s Architecture Division for decades of leadership in computational design and experimental architectural education.
CCA Architecture has received the 2026 ACADIA Impact Award of Excellence, an international honor that recognizes the division’s innovation in computational design, digital fabrication, robotics, and material research. Architecture Chair Nataly Gattegno accepted the award on October 24 at the ACADIA conference in Detroit, hosted by Lawrence Technological University’s College of Architecture and Design. CCA joins past recipients including the Institute for Computational Design at the University of Stuttgart, CITA at the Royal Danish Academy, the Bartlett School of Architecture’s B-Pro program, IAAC in Barcelona, and the University of Michigan’s Digital and Material Technologies program. ACADIA cited CCA’s Digital Craft Lab for its lasting impact on the field. The lab was founded by Jason Kelly Johnson and Andrew Kudless and is now co-directed by Johnson and Negar Kalantar. ACADIA also held up CCA’s network of research labs and its industry partnerships with Autodesk, Audi, Kreysler & Associates, NVIDIA, and others as models for other academic programs.
