California College of the Arts is pleased to announce Kay Kimpton Walker as the 2018 honoree at its annual gala, CCA’s People Party, to raise funds for student scholarships and recognize an outstanding member of the community. Walker has served on the college’s Board of Trustees since 2006 and chaired or co-chaired seven gala fundraisers. Thanks in part to her dedicated leadership, these galas raised over $4 million for CCA scholarships—helping hundreds of students access a world-class arts education.

This year’s gala, co-chaired by Cathy Podell and Stanlee Gatti, will showcase Walker’s commitment to supporting those around her. The evening’s remarks will be delivered by Walker’s daughter and Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jennifer Egan. An exhibition of alumni art, curated by Tanya Gayer (MA Curatorial Practice, Visual and Critical Studies 2016), will feature works by Dalia Anani (MFA Social Practice 2013), Patricia Leal (Sculpture 2017), Dionne Lee (MFA 2017), Weston Teruya (MFA, MA Visual and Critical Studies 2007), and Ann Weber (MFA 1987). The décor by renowned San Francisco event designer Stanlee Gatti will create an ambiance of refined elegance and sophistication for the evening’s celebration. Notable sponsors of the 2018 CCA’s People Party gala are Brooks & Danielle Walker, Jack & Susy Wadsworth, Diane Wilsey, and Arthur Gensler.
