CCA alums debut new collaborative exhibition in Davis
CCA alums Gioia Fonda (BFA Individualized Studies 1996) and Charlie Gill (BFA Painting 1995) reunite for an exhibition exploring still-life painting, memory, and artistic collaboration.
CCA alums Gioia Fonda and Charlie Gill present Portraits of Things, a collaborative exhibition at the Pence Gallery in Davis, on view October 9 through November 29, 2026. The exhibition revisits a creative exchange that began during their time at CCA, when Fonda photographed arrangements of colorful toys and found objects that inspired Gill to create paintings based on her images. Decades later, the two artists bring their work together, pairing Gill’s original paintings with a new series of still-life paintings by Fonda.
