Wagtail Page Scheduling Guide
A simple guide for content editors to schedule pages for future publication or automatic expiration
Overview
Wagtail's scheduling feature allows you to:
- Schedule pages to go live in the future - Perfect for news articles, events, or announcements
- Set pages to automatically expire - Great for time-sensitive content like registration deadlines
- Plan your content calendar - Prepare multiple pages and have them publish automatically
This is especially useful for content that needs to coordinate with academic calendars, events, and marketing campaigns.
How to Schedule a Page

Accessing the Schedule Feature
To schedule any page in Wagtail:
- Edit your page - Open the page you want to schedule
- Look at the top-right corner - Find the page status area
- Click the status icon - It shows the current page info
- Select "Set schedule" from the panel

1) Enter your go-live and expiry dates. 2) Click save schedule before you publish the page.
Set the go live date
- Enter in your go live date
- Click save schedule
- Publish page and wait!

Making edits to a schedule
- If a page has a schedule set, you can modify these fields, re-save the schedule, and publish the page.
- Removing a schedule is done by saving a schedule with no go-live date.
