FireShot - Screenshot a website

A tool guide for capturing full-page web screenshots for review and approval.

Why We Use FireShot at CCA

At CCA, we regularly develop and update web pages that need review and approval before going live. FireShot allows us to capture complete screenshots of entire web pages—including all content below the fold—and save them as PDFs.

Our typical workflow:

  • Capture draft pages (landing pages, program pages, campaign pages) in their entirety
  • Share PDFs with stakeholders for review and feedback
  • Maintain visual records of page iterations and approval stages
  • Enable reviewers to see exactly how pages will appear without needing direct access to staging environments

This is especially useful for pages with long-form content, multiple sections, or dynamic elements that need to be reviewed as a complete package.

How to Capture a Full-Page Screenshot

  1. Navigate to the page you want to capture in your browser.
  2. Click the FireShot icon in your browser toolbar (or use the keyboard shortcut if configured).
  3. Select "Capture Entire Page" from the menu options.
  4. FireShot will automatically scroll and capture the complete page.

Saving as PDF

  1. Once the capture is complete, choose "Save as PDF" from the options.
  2. Name the file with a clear, descriptive title (e.g., Transfer-Landing-Page-Draft-2025-10-29.pdf).
  3. Save the PDF to your desired location or shared review folder.

Best Practices

  • Use consistent naming conventions that include the page name, status (draft/final), and date
  • Capture pages after they're fully loaded to ensure all content, images, and dynamic elements are included
  • Add version numbers if you're iterating on the same page (e.g., Homepage-Draft-v2-2025-10-29.pdf)
  • Include the page URL in your email or Slack message when sharing for context
  • For pages with multiple breakpoints, consider capturing both desktop and mobile views separately
