Larry Sultan Visiting Artist Program
California College of the Arts is pleased to announce the official naming of the Larry Sultan Visiting Artist Program.
The program pays tribute to the renowned photographic artist and longtime CCA faculty member Larry Sultan, who passed away in 2009.
Each year this previously unnamed series brings to campus prominent photographers and artists working in photography-related media to give public presentations, critique student work, and participate in events and projects.
In addition to sponsoring a public lecture by each visiting artist, the program enables students in CCA’s Graduate Program in Fine Arts and undergraduate Photography Program to have invaluable personal contact with some of the most talented and influential artists currently working in the medium.
Together with the region’s many museums, galleries, and premier photography collections such as that of Pier 24, the Larry Sultan Visiting Artist Program furthers the reputation of the Bay Area as a rich context for the study of contemporary photographic production.
